Potassium can lower the risk of strokes and heart disease. Sodium and Potassium work together to maintain the fluid balance of our body. But many people take sodium greatly and forget about taking potassium. Eating leafy greens, oranges, bananas, and raisins can maintain the ratio of potassium and sodium.

If you are not pregnant, you can take 4700 mg of potassium every day. For pregnant, the daily dose of potassium is 5100 mg.

If you have a heart condition and take anti potassium medicines or fail to eat that amount of potassium, you better take a supplement. But be careful. Taking potassium excessively is dangerous for those who have kidney disease. Older people also should be careful about this fact.
