Barbara Eden was many 60s boys’ first crush for her role as Jeanie in the popular Sitcom I Dram of Jeanie. But many people do not know that Jeanie was close to not getting her most iconic role!
The producers of that show were trying to make something different from another popular show Bewitched. Bewitched was also their production. So, while casting, they were searching for a brunette lead to differentiate from Bewitched. Luckily, the casting director picked her up for this role as she had blonde hair. She was very cheerful on the set.
